I was always attracted to the rhythm a poem created in my heart. I used to spend hours reciting various poems just to ignite the rhythmic music hidden behind the deep thoughts. Thus, perhaps, I made my first attempt at trying to compose a few lines with a few rhyming words.
I remember that I was barely a nine-year-old girl when the desire to compose my first poem overpowered my fear of being criticized. With a lot of energy and enthusiasm, I wrote down eight lines which inspired me to continue writing what I’ve been writing henceforth.
………………………………………………..
Mr. & Mrs. Cat
Here was Mrs. Tabby-cat,
With a sparkling clean dish,
To give Mr. Tom-cat
A tasty, delicious fish.
Together they sat to dine
With forks and knives in hand,
Basking in the sunshine,
Watching their children play with sand.
………………………………………………..
I know there are quite a number of grammatical errors. Yet, as it was my first ever attempt at stepping into the world of poetry, I haven’t edited the lines.
As I write this post, the happiness that I had experienced after two hours of intense concentration ten years back flashes before my eyes and leaves a lingering smile on my face.
Such a cute poem..loved it

The best thing about poetry, grammatical mistakes are not considered! 😀

It’s not easy composing any poem…I remember I only compose when it is required in a subject at school (too long ago) lol 🙂 Continue what you love, be blessed 🙂
