Succumb to the Gravity of Darkness

Imagine being dumped into a small cubicle in the dungeon. You are surrounded by walls around you, below you and above you. Your only comfort is a small slit through the ceiling that connects you to the entire world. Imagine staying in that claustrophobic environment for several years. How would you feel?

When darkness surrounds you, you crave for light. When light dawns upon you, you believe you have finally come across ‘happiness’ that would be your companion till eternity. However, much against your own wishes, the light betrays you and goes away. You are then left in solitude.

You don’t enjoy being lonely because that treacherous light has given you a glimpse of the beauty that exists beyond this custody. You desire to feel the beauty and to be a part of it. Your lingering soul travels to the world outside the dungeon. However, you can’t physically mingle with the light outside.

Thus, you resolve to solitude. People call you aloof, but, you know that you will never be able to get the opportunity to change their opinion because you know that you will never be able to socialise. You gradually become a part of the darkness encircling you. You get so used to the darkness that you forget the fact that light exists. Hence, you succumb to the gravity of darkness.
